Skye’s Bio

Like most kids, following mum around the kitchen as she baked and waiting for the opportunity to lick the bowl afterwards, was Skye’s first motivation for cooking sweets. These days things haven’t changed too much and Skye’s warmth, infectious smile and desserts to die for saw her become a much loved household name after her 6 months of hard work on the second series of ratings juggernaut MasterChef Series 2. Her great passion for culinary adventures and years working as a graphic designer paid off as Australia watched her create stunning sweets made with creativity and flair.

Since her time on MasterChef where she became known as the dessert queen, Skye has delighted Australia with her dessert business Wild Sugar. Skye’s philosophy is all about creating balance with the way you eat. So of course it’s all about indulgence with gorgeous naughty desserts for sure (they are essential at times!), however if we learn how to create healthier desserts which you see in the “Health Nut” chapter of her first book Wild Sugar Desserts, you can spoil yourself more often. These are stunning sweets using low GI sugar substitutes such as fruit and healthier ingredients to take care of your taste buds while you take care of your body.

Her desserts are a celebration of the naughty gene that lives within all of us. She is also passionate about creating balance by treating and nurturing in ways that serve us well. From recipes made from healthy ingredients to gratifying chocolate laden desserts, you’ll find a sweet treat from Wild Sugar Desserts to put a smile on your face. The dessert queen loves to share her desserts as she attends personal and tv appearances including The Circle, Mornings on Nine, The Morning Show Channel 7, Everyday Gourmet and is incredibly excited to share her stunning first book Wild Sugar Desserts. Skye’s sweets are a leaping treasure trove of pleasures, so dig in and enjoy. Life is a wild ride. Sweets remind us to smile.

  4. I’m from the UK & just this minute watched Jonathan The Eliminator win his 5th elimination at your expense.
However, the good news is that it enabled you to get Wild Sugar off the ground & from what I can see, it’s doing well for you. No surprises there!
I’m sure you’ll do very well & boy, do we need your ice cream & other ideas here in the UK.
So come on over & inspire us all on the TV here soon.
    Very best wishes, Richard

    Hi Skye
Just watched the re-run of Australian Masterchef having seen the first run some time back. I love it as it is so positive unlike the UK reality TV which always focuses on whose done the worst with dance offs, skate offs, cook offs etc with the bottom 2. I love your positive spin on things and the grace in which you took defeat. Good on you!! I am really glad that Wild Sugar has done so well. Am looking forward to seeing the book which is on pre-order with Amazon as is not yet available in the UK.
Best wishes for the future – keep on cooking!!

Loved watching you in Masterchef Australia! I so agree with the previous comment, that the Australian Masterchef show is so unique because of the positiveness… the focus is good food and a fair fight. No drama and and fighting. The contestants seem to wish the best for one another…

May all your dreams come true!!!

    Hi Skye!

I loved watching you on MasterChef and met you the first day you launched selling Wild Sugar desserts at the markets in Brisbane. I was so surprised and excited to see one of your recipes published in a London magazine I was reading on the tube and I walked past your book on display in a bookshop in London yesterday. I’m so glad your passion and talent has made its way over to this side of the world! Congratulations and please come and visit as you have fans the world over! :)
